Newfoundland and Labrador

With rich history, culture and sprawling natural beauty, Newfoundland & Labrador is a big province with lots to see and do including Viking settlements and old fishing villages. Each spring giant icebergs arrive from Greenland and the Canadian Arctic and pass through Iceberg Alley to drift down the Newfoundland & Labrador coast. Thousands of great whales migrate north to the Newfoundland & Labrador shores for the summer feeding season. Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site offers unrivalled opportunities for outdoor activities.

The Torngat Mountains National Park, situated at the northern extremity of the Labrador coast, forms a range of high barren mountains and massive coastal fjords. The Torngats are a wild place where polar bears, wolves and caribou survive in a habitat that is breathtakingly spectacular. They are stunning mountain top lakes, tiny, delicate flora such as mountain cranberries and Arctic poppies and magnificent rock formations. In addition to bears, minke and humpback whales are often seen.
