Day 1 - Deer Lake/Gros Morne National Park
Arrive Deer Lake and drive north along the Viking Trail to Gros Morne National Park - designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 for its impressive geological features, the 1805km.sq park offers beauty and adventure that are unsurpassed anywhere else in the world. Take time to view the magnificent 'Tablelands' - the reason Gros Morne was given its UNESCO status. Gros Morne is a hiker's paradise catering to all abilities, with over 19 hiking trails to choose from covering over 100kms of the park. Overnight Gros Morne National Park.

Day 2 - Gros Morne National Park
Take time to fully explore the south side of this beautiful area of Newfoundland. Visit the impressive Discovery Centre and the scenic communities of Woody Point and Trout River. Woody Point is located in the heart of Gros Morne National Park, on the western coast of Newfoundland. Situated on Bonne Bay, the Town of Woody Point encompasses three areas, Curzon Village, Woody Point and Winterhouse Brook. Woody Point is a Registered Heritage District and has a waterfront with many heritage buildings and four Registered Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage Structures. Trout River is a small town steeped in Newfoundland tradition. Snuggled in a sheltered cove on the west coast of the island, you will meet and experience residents who embrace its visitors and who still maintain their attachment to land and sea. You will discover amazing nature walks, exposed prehistoric tablelands, deep valleys and land locked fjords. Overnight Gros Morne National Park.

Day 3 - Gros Morne National Park
This morning drive to the north side of Gros Morne National Park. Visit Bonne Bay Marine Station in Norris Point and the century-old Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse in Rocky Harbour to see a display on the 4000-year human history of this coast. In the afternoon , head north to Western Brook Pond where you will join a Western Brook Fjord Boat Tour - a two-hour tour to see the breathtaking freshwater fjords with their strikingly steep cliffs towering 600m above you, the only way, other than by helicopter to see the spectacular Western Brook Gorge. Further afield visit "SS Ethie", Shallow Bay Beach, and “The Arches". Be sure to visit Broom Point – just 5 minutes south of St. Paul’s. Today you can meet the fishermen who worked on restoring the cabins and fish stores. Continue to Norris Point.

Day 4 - Gros Morne National Park/Ferry to Blanc Sablon/L’Anse au Clair
Depart Gros Morne National Park and take a leisurely drive north continuing along the Viking Trail – you will notice the landscape changing as you pass through the communities of Daniels Harbour and Hawkes Bay. Continue your drive to St. Barbe to board the ferry to Labrador. Labrador is one of the last untamed wilderness regions on the North American continent. Sites to see include Point Amour Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site - enjoy a spectacular show of icebergs, whales and seabirds. The Point Amour Lighthouse is one of the two oldest working lighthouses in Canada today and the tallest lighthouse tower in Atlantic Canada. Overnight L’Anse au Clair.

Day 5 - L’Anse au Clair
Today you can explore Southern Labrador. Sightseeing suggestions include Point Amour Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site - enjoy a spectacular show of icebergs, whales and seabirds. The Point Amour Lighthouse is one of the two oldest working lighthouses in Canada today and the tallest lighthouse tower in Atlantic Canada. Continue north to Red Bay - A National Historic Site. This mystical place is world-renowned and takes the essence of Labrador. Today you can wander around the former whaling town of Red Bay and immerse yourself in history. You can take a hike along the beach and step into the interpretation centre to see an eight-metre chalupa, which whalers used on the ocean to harpoon their giant catch. To get a full appreciation for the size of these whales, compare the chalupa to the assembled collections of whale bones displayed. These showcase a time of prosperity and dangerous adventure, illustrating a long-ago way of life. Continue back to L’anse au Clair.Overnight L’Anse-au-Claire.

Day 6 - L’Anse au Clair /Ferry to St. Barbe/Main Brook
Depart L’Anse au Clair and drive to the Blanc Sablon ferry terminal ready for your ferry over to St. Barbe. On arrival take time to visit both L'Anse aux Meadows - the only authenticated Viking settlement site in North America and Norstead Viking Village - a fascinating re-enactment of how Vikings lived over 1000 years ago. Depart L’Anse au Clair and take the ferry back over to St. Barbe..If time permits, also visit Dark Tickle Eco Museum, Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve or Pistolet Bay Provincial Park. Drive to Main Brook. On arrival relax and capture the extreme beauty and tranquility of your natural surroundings. Enjoy spectacular views from the Lodge which overlooks South West Pond. Activities available for the more adventurous include hiking, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Overnight Main Brook.

Day 7 - Main Brook
This morning drive to the town of St. Anthony where you will take a nature cruise and explore the breathtaking coastal waters off St. Anthony; in season, expect to see whales and icebergs. Later visit the Grenfell Historic Properties and learn of the impact that Sir Wilfred Grenfell had on the social, medical and economic climate of the early 1900s during his worldwide mission. The historic properties tell the story of the evolution of northern Newfoundland and Labrador and the people of the region over the last 100 years. Tonight why not join The Great Viking Dinner Theatre at Leifsburdir. This building is a replica of the 1000 year old Leif Erickson's home at nearby L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site. "Leifsburdir" is covered in sod and nearly invisible from the outside, but inside it takes you back to 1000 AD when the Vikings roamed our land. Truly an experience not to be missed! Return to Main Brook. Overnight Main Brook.

Day 8 - Main Brook/Deer Lake
Depart Main Brook and drive back down the Viking Trail to Deer Lake. If time permits visit Port
