One of the most sought-after Northern experiences, a Yukon winter vacation is only complete with viewing the aurora borealis cascading across the Yukon night sky. A chemical light reaction caused when solar energy interacts with the Earth’s atmosphere, producing dramatic, dancing waves of green light from one horizon to another the Northern Lights have captivated viewers since the beginning of time, as evidence by the many Yukon First Nation legends they’ve inspired.
We invite you to join us on our Aurora viewing tour at our custom built Aurora viewing location, far from the lights of the city, so you can experience the Northern Lights for yourself – and create your own legends.

Day 1
Fly from UK to Vancouver – stay for 3 nights in Vancouver at the Holiday Inn and Suites on room only.

Day 2 & 3
Vancouver at leisure. Surrounded by both the ocean and the mountains, Vancouver is a vibrant city that appears to have it all – natural beauty, an exciting multicultural foodie scene and plenty of opportunities for wild encounters. Stroll along the seawall, explore Gastown or hike up Grouse Mountain for a bird's eye view of the city.

Day 4
Return to the airport for your flight to Whitehorse where you will be met and transferred to your Hotel in downtown Whitehorse. The hotel is located within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants, banks and stores. There will be a meeting and registration for any optional tours you might wish to take. (These could be – half or full day snowmobiling, half day dog sledding, a tour with a naturalist into the Boreal Forest, a sightseeing tour of the southern lakes, snow shoeing and trekking.) Winter clothing can also be rented.

At 10pm you will depart for Aurora viewing. A cozy, heated cabin or wall tent with hot drinks and snacks makes your Aurora viewing even more enjoyable. You will return to the hotel around 3am.

Day 5
In the morning at 10.00 am enjoy a city tour.   In the afternoon you will be transferred to the Northern Lights Resort & Spa. Relax, unwind and soak up the peaceful ambiance. Located just 20 minutes south of Whitehorse, this hideaway is located in the countryside close to the Yukon River. It is surrounded by pine forests and ringed by mountains. Built from massive Douglas Fir, the 3600 sq foot lodge features a luxurious great room for guest gathering, relaxing, breakfast and dinner use with a dramatic panoramic view of the Yukon River valley and the mountain range. Guests stay in the cozy guest room with large en-suite bathroom in the lodge or in a well-appointed 320 sq/ft. cottage featuring a large living/bedroom with fireplace, adjacent kitchen and en-suite bathroom. The spa & wellness area is located in the main building and has a Finish sauna, infrared sauna, whirlpool, rest room and a room for massage treatments.

The surroundings are perfect for relaxing in the guest lounge, the large deck or the privacy of your own room or cottage, enjoying the spectacular views of the Northern Lights in winter. The open area surrounding the lodge allows unobscured views of the soaring Aurora!

Days 6 & 7
Wake up to a healthy European-style breakfast and spend your days relaxing in the lodge in front of the fireplace.
Talk with your host about breakfast times. Since you will be up late the night before, you may not want to have breakfast too early. Go for a snow shoe hike, or plan a day out dog sledding (optional tours). Enjoy the sauna and a customised massage treatment in the spa. Or simply relax in the outdoor hot tub on the large deck under the breathtaking northern sky.

In the evening, after dinner, you may stay up late again to view the Aurora Borealis. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
